How Long Will It Take?

Unfortunately, this is a question no one can answer. It varies from job to job & from contractor to contractor. It can even vary from one day to the next. However a national remodeling industry group did agree to the following timetable for a typical full kitchen remodel (within a margin of error for unforeseen circumstances & custom work):

1 to 2 days to tear out existing fixtures, walls, floors, appliances and secure electric wiring and cap off plumbing
2 to 3 days for framing
2 to 5 days for rough in of electric, plumbing and heat
3 to 4 days to install, tape and finish drywall
1 to 2 days to install a new kitchen floor
2 to 6 days to install new cabinets
1 to 2 days for new fixtures and appliances
1 day for the plumber to install sink, dishwasher, etc.
2 to 3 days for lighting, trim work, wall coverings, painting, etc.
